Though traveling alone to me is worth the downs it doesn't mean that sometimes it doesn't get to you. To spend most of your time somewhere new means constantly having to make new connections and though physical connections are fairly easy to come by connections to people on a more personal and intimate level. There are moments when it is more apparent that being isolated is affecting me and, in those moments, it's easy to forget the reason that I do it. In the long wrong when the good and bad are weighed out it's worth those dark nights alone in my mind.

Aside from the loneliness there are general dangers in the world though to be honest I haven't been as bothered as some people would have you believe, not to say that it should never be on your mind but to be honest I've been hurt more by people I know than those I don't.

Loneliness can drive you to places that will eat you alive if you're not careful. Also having to interact with new people regularly you should work on reading people it's a developable skill the more you use it over time. Be careful not to become jaded and keep yourself alienated, not everyone has bad intentions though some are exceptionally great at hiding them. That being said look into different ways to protect yourself as well as reasons for having them like if you have a bat keep a glove and ball or if you carry a machete also have camping accessories of which that is apart not only that though take a self-defense class remain vigilant.

Other ways to combat the loneliness include joining a local hike group or something like that. I dive myself though not as easy as one would hope to find a buddy sometimes. Even outside of that though no matter where you are there are so many different things to discover don't let yourself feel like you are ever too far away from interaction. Even if you just go out to eat and sit at the bar and chit-chat with random stranger even just for a short while you'd be surprised how much that can help.

I have modest means so the way I travel isn't full of glitz and glamour but that doesn't make each memory any less special and remember those moments help to carry you through the darkness that can creep its way in without warning, at least that tends to help me through. I also keep in mind that no matter how bad the road can get for me being stationary is a thousand times worse. Maybe it has something to do with not quite having a home for a good chunk of my life and even so the first one I ever had wasn't exactly conducive to proper early childhood development.

All that being said I suppose I'll end this here with this final thought...Don't the doubt keep you from experiencing the magic the world has to offer.

Until Next Time
